    Buying online?

All of the pet stores around me have really high prices for frozen mice (high enough that I'd save money even with shipping costs), so I'd like to order online in bulk.
I'm thinking about ordering from rodent pro. Has anyone had good experiences with them? I've heard good and bad things. Feel free to recommend other online retailers.
My other question is how long can you store frozen mice? Would a year be too long?
I'm looking for mice pinkies, adults, and XL/Jumbo.

Depends on how they're stored! If they're vacuum sealed, they can supposedly last 10-15months (sources vary), and if theyre in an open container roughly 3 months, give or take. Like, the same way you're supposed to finish juice in a few days after opening the bottle, haha

    Re: Buying online?

I had a shipment from rodent pro come in and it went very well. I will say that there was a bit of feces in the packaging, but other than that it was neatly packaged and came in a vacuum seal bag with a box that was very well insulated(it was out in the 100 degree weather for about 5 hours before I got home). But if you only have one snake, I would probably suggest Perfect Prey or Big Cheese since they sell in smaller quantities. I got 50 small mice(for $50 including shipping, still way cheaper than in store) for my noodle and he's quickly growing out of it. Bad choice to buy way too much for one snake!

Oh and watch out for their sales! Good time to buy online.

    Re: Buying online?

Awesome! Thanks for all of the info. I do have 4 snakes, and would like to buy enough for a year. I'm planning to buy from rodent pro, but will check out the other sources listed!
So it will be safe to store them for up to a year?

I've used Rodent Pro and Big Cheese, and I prefer Big Cheese. They vacuum-pack the rodents, and Rodent Pro doesn't. It seems like Rodent Pro just tosses the rodents in a bag and freezes them, so they get kind of tangled up so it's a little hard to separate them while frozen. Big Cheese lays them out in a tidy row so they come apart a lot easier. I've also heard that some people have had quality issues with Rodent Pro, but I didn't have any trouble in that regard. Prices are about the same.

Big Cheese or Perfect Prey for me. Rodent Pro's feeders were a bit icky imo.

Awesome to know, after reading everyone's responses I've decided to try Big Cheese instead of Rodent Pro. Thanks!
