    F/T switch minimal success.

So as the collection grows feeding live gets to be more a struggle so I tried the ft switch yesterday.

Male Normal : interested but a no go. This is no surprise with him.
Female mojo: killed it again and didn't eat
    Killerblast: devoured a pup instantly

Now where I felt concern feeding the new 3.

Pastel Enchi: interested but maybe hasn't settled in yet will try again in a few days.
Super Pastel Special : interested by again maybe too stressed yet from the shipping and such
Pastel Mystic Potion: this little guy weighed in a stout 163 struck numerous times at a pup but I feel the pup may have been too big as the strikes seemed to me more defensive so I've ordered fuzzies, pups and small rats from big cheese will attempt all when they arrive.

SO here is my question to you experienced frozen feeders.

2 of the rats tails fell off holding them with the tongs (body temp was 87 head temps 106 is this a normal thing or did the hair dryer heat the tail up too much somehow?

    Thanks for any responses y'all.

i've had tails fall off sometimes. sometimes the tails develops cracks when the rodent is frozen, sometimes the impact of the strike and/or coil or pulling from tongs like a tug o war breaks the tail. heat won't break a tail IMO. i know which snakes are my aggressive heavy hitter/eaters and i'll hold a rat by the leg with my tongs for a more sure grip.

lol i usually feed broken tails to my milksnake as a snack after.

Thanks that's a good idea. I have no idea about the new 3 but the blast and my mojo have a ridiculously aggressive feeding response and they let it be known. Maybe a foot hold for those 2 is a better idea.

I wish you luck on getting them all to switch, glad your killerblast made it easy for you!

I hold mine by the hips, idk if there is a problem with this but the reason I do that is bc my super pastel won't strike unless it looks like it is real and alive I guess. I need to make it look like it's walking on all four legs for him to strike, weird Ik but it works and that's how I hold all of mine. Hard to make the rats look like they are walking while holding it by the tail or leg.
