Help Feeding, What Size Prey Item Should I Feed?

Yesterday Was My Feeding Day For My Ball Python. I Just Got Two New Balls, Since I Dont Know When They Last Ate I decided to Try & feed them also. One of the snakes I just received is very small & thin. I just wanted to know what anyone would recommend I feed them. I went to the pet store & the mice I got seemed a little big for them. I'm leaving to go out of town later today & wont be back until Tuesday. I want to at least give the smallest one something before i leave. I just measured him & he weighs 50g & the other one weighs 70g

Hopper mice or rat pups. What were they being fed?
You also want to give them some time to settle in. I would wait till you get back.

I also agree, Make sure all temps, and humidity is good. Then leave them be for a week. If the small one bothers you because he is a little thin then try to give him something after 5 days. Feed no bigger then the largest part of their bodies. For the thin 50g guy i would try a prey item at 10% of his body weight. So that would be a 5 or 6 g rat or mouse, i prefur rats, but thats me and rats are easy for me to get where i am.

My bad. Mouse hoppers or rat fuzzys would work.

I got them as birthday gifts I'm not sure what they were eating, but I tried hoppers last night. They seemed more interested in exploring then eating but I wanted to give the 50g one something because it's so small & thin.

Being that you just got them they may not eat. Make sure your husbandry is perfect. Each in there own small tub, temps perfect, humidity perfect, small hide, heat source on thermostat, and don't be handling unless necessary.
