    Pretty funny

I've had my pastel enchi lesser for a few month now and been able to observe his behavior. These snakes all have their own personalities and it's pretty funny. My new pastel enchi lesser named Wizard always has his head peeking out of his hide just a little. It's as if he doesn't want to miss out on something. If he gets in under his paper towels....he still pokes his head out. No matter what...he has his head peeking out. Is he hunting ?

They've been ambush hunters for thousands of years, so the position you're seeing is very commom. Gotta be ready whenever food wanders by, hungry or not, because they don't know when the next one may show up.

In time, you'll be able to recognize the difference between just chilling in that pose and the characteristic s-shaped neck that means they're ready and waiting in actual feed mode. Just keep your hands out during that time if you've been handling rodents.

I know the exactly what you are talking about. It's good to know when that neck is in the S shape.

One of mine likes to poke his wee head out of the hole of his hide, like he's just peeping out to see what's going on. If I squat down and look at him though, he pulls one of these:
