My 7 year old niece called me yesterday while I was at work to tell me that instead of having a lemonade stand, she was going to make paintings and sell them on the street in a little stand my mom had made for her. Now here's the kicker, she said that all the money that she makes from the sales she "wants to donate it to the humane society". My mom called me last night to let me know that she had sold ALL of her paintings in about 2 hours and that she had made $9.50 so far. She was going to do the same thing today while she's at my parents house. They live about a block away from a pretty big college and the people who stopped to buy them yesterday were still coming to my parents house last night with their friends so that they could see for themselves. So hopefully they'll come back again today to buy some more. I just got off the phone with my niece and she is hard at work painting her "Monet's" as she calls them so they're ready for this afternoon to sell. How cute is that? Also, when someone buys a painting, they get a homemade cookie that my mom helped her bake. I'm going to try and see if I can get her picture in the paper for this one. My best friend is an editor at the local paper, so hopefully he can get it in there for me. I'll let you know how well she did today once I get the word.

    Later on,
    Matt

What a sweet girl! I hope you can get her in the paper - that would be great. Or on the news - bet she'd get more customers then.
