Condensation question
On the 17th my beautiful lesser laid 4 big plump beautiful eggs. I had my incubator set up and ready to go a month prior. Temp stays at 90 in incubator and around 89.6 in egg tube. I have her eggs in a sterile container with lid and no holes and no press and seal. I used hatch rite as my medium. The probe in egg box reads temp 89.6 and humidity is 99%. Outside my egg box my other probe reads humidity at 82%. My egg box does not have ANY condensation. My question is should it have condensation right away or will that be closer to the hatch date? And if there is no condensation does that mean my medium is not wet enough? This is my first year breeding please help????

Re: Condensation question
Condensation typically (if set properly) starts towards the end of incubation.
Now because there is no condensation does not mean that your eggs are not setup properly however I strongly recommend to keep and eye on your eggs, in my experience while hatchrite is supposed to be a ready to use medium it does very poorly with high temps not providing adequate humidity (most people usually have to add water at some point)
Don't rely just on your hygrometer they are often inaccurate.

Re: Condensation question
So should I just feel the hatch rite and if it feels dry add water?

Re: Condensation question
I would keep just keep an eye on your eggs. If they're beginning to deflate, then humidity needs to be raised. If they remain plump, don't worry about it.

Re: Condensation question
Are the eggs on a diffuser or are they sitting in the hatch rite?
Stay in peace and not pieces.
