Cape File Snake Info Wanted
Hey guys,
A while back I picked up a pair of wild caught adult Cape File snakes in a trade. They seem to be doing well, but I have been trying to find out more info regarding their captive care. If you or someone you know have kept these animals or especially if you have successfully bred them I would love to pick your brain. Please reply, or PM me with contact info. Thanks!!

I believe they are the most ancient species and have survived extinction. Check your local state laws bc they may be a protected species at least on the state level. They inhabit Savannah and forests. They are described as non venomous. However they can get to be 1 meter in length

You can see he is pretty heavily scarred, I don't think that will get much better but I really like him. I have done research on their geographic range and climate, and would like to breed them, but first I was hoping for more info on what has worked for others in captivity.

You might find some people who keep them in the "Rare and Uncommon Reptile Discussion Group" on Facebook.
