    Freebie find!

So some may have seen me inquire on what morph a snake I saw on a buy and sell was. I ended up picking this guy up from a neighbouring town, the guy had bought the snake for his daughter but no one was really paying attention to it anymore and his wife doesn't like smooth, scaled critters so they decided they would give him away for free to a good home. As I was informed, a pretty Mojave. The couple said they were told he is a he. I wouldn't mind confirming it for myself, though.

He seems to be in good health, they gave me some frozen mice along with the cage they had him in. His eyes look a little foggy though, my guess is maybe stuck eye caps. The guy said he had become a little nervous of the snake so it had been a few months since the snake had been handled. (I picked him up no problem and they seemed almost shocked.) Their cage for him is an old aquarium and it had a really thin layer of some sort of wood chips as bedding that my husband and I couldn't identify as to what kind of wood it was. The UTH pad was taped with packing tape to the bottom instead of peeling the adhesive covering off the pad and sticking it directly to the glass and nothing to control the temperature of the pad. For a bulb, they had a UV bulb. The glass had quite the layer of calcium build up from what looks like them misting the cage but hadn't cleaned it in a while.
Other than that, he's pretty friendly! I cleaned out the cage and got the glass sparkly again, put down Reptibark and stuck the UTH on the glass properly and it's now regulated and he had a proper heat lamp. He's away from my other snakes for a month or two just in case, but I'm pretty happy with the guy. My guess is he's around a year or two. They only had him for 8 months.

    Think I'm naming him Jasper.

Congrats on your beauty there! Glad that he has a much better home now.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
