Uth set temp

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but here's my question. When using a UTH, with a thermostat of course, in a tank i want to be checking the temp of the bare glass not the substrate correct? Because if they burrow they could get to the glass and get burnt right? What exactly is hot enough to burn them? I've heard from 90 to 95. Right now he's on paper towels but I will be adding reptichip in the future. Doesn't seem like the top of that will be warm enough at all...

Yes you want to measure the temp on the bare glass.

I like my hotspot from 88-92.

When you place a substrate over the uth it needs to be very thin, 1/4 inch.

Glass max 95 and yes the surface of the substrate is cooler your snake will move it to find the heat.
