Suggestions for Breeding plans?
Okay, so here is whats going on in the Complete Constrictors (hehe) breeding world this year. So I should have 3 females ready to breed this year. They are all 2013 animals that have been pretty slow, but have started picking up steam and eating medium rats recently.
They are all about 1200+ grams at this point (genes of these 3 females are pastel, fire, lesser). I was originally intending to pair them all with my killerbee male, however, due to personal reservations about the spider gene, I decided to sell him, leaving my plans in somewhat of a lurch for this season. So now I find myself in need of a male for this year. I had a Coral Glow Enchi Fire male that was 1000+ grams lined up, but the seller inexplicably backed out and has avoided any contact since. I was planning on using him to my 3 girls this year, and a clown girl next year for some multi-gene clown hets.
Now, my dilemma is should I just wait this year out and throw my 2015 boys at them next year which would be (Pastel Clown X Lesser, GHI Mojave X Fire, GHI Mojave X Pastel), look for a breeder male for just this year, or buy a different 2015 and just wait it out? I did see this morning a coral glow enchi 50% het clown for 500, but I'm not a huge fan of 50% hets. I like my 100% chance of success...
2013 females 1200g+
Fire, Lesser, Pastel
2014 females 800g+
Clown
Super Pastel Het Clown

Anyways just looking to get some options from enablers...

I guess this is pretty broad.... But just looking for suggestions on good males to match with some of these. I thought the Banana Enchi Fire was perfect, but they are very hard to find. So now i'm leaning between just waiting this one out since hes gone now or looking for a well started banana het clown. Always open to other cool suggestions I haven't thought about. I mostly am trying to focus on clown morphs though. Thanks in advance!

So just my opinion but if waiting it out is an option for you. I would do that. I see that the females have crested the 1200g mark but I feel that;s still a little small. I personally wait til 1800g. Not to say that you need to wait that long, but if you hold out this season and get them bigger. While at the same time getting your boys bigger, I believe you'll be happy with the decision. Your girls will have the extra weight they'll need to support the developing eggs safely, without jeopardizing their health. You'll get bigger clutches, eggs and babies as well. Again, just my opinion. Besides, I think the if you want to specialize in clowns, putting your pastel clown to them may be a wise choice.
Good Luck
