Price on a Pied Male
I'm interested in getting a morph and came across a Pied in my area.
I'm just leary about it as I keep being told there are a lot of health issues with them, and I also don't want to get ripped off and pay too much.
I was curious as how much a 550 grams male Pied, I do believe he is a '14, (I know he's a little over a year old.) would go for.

In my area, 400-500 tops. 15 male pieds are 300-350

I've not heard of pieds having 'a lot of health issues'. I know some morphs have genetic issues like wobble and spine kink, but I haven't heard of anything specific to pieds.

Re: Price on a Pied Male
I will bite where did you hear about Pied having a lot of health issue? And from whom?
Price are variable depends on the amount of white as well and of course it is supply and demand especially since you want to but locally.

Thank you guys for your feedback.
I guess that justifies me spending $400 on a snake
I use to work for a reptile facility and they always had problems with their snakes, mostly with Pieds. However, that facility wasn't very great.
My coworker told me today that they would need special lighting due to their coloring. I've searched everything I could find to shed some light but nothing came up on it so I decided to post here and get more opinions from other owners.
The snake I'm looking into is said to have regular bowl movements, sheds and eats very well.

I have been raising and breedinf pieds and pied combos since 2009 and there is not issue with them and they do not require any special light.
Pet stores are usually the least knowledgeable source of information

The only issue my pied girl has had since she was a 90g worm is now just over a year later and about 1000g later, she had decided she didn't want to eat....its been about 4-5 months now. She is still fat and destroys stuff. Your co-worker is either messing with you or got some really bad info. They don't need any special lights. As for price, like everyone else said, depends on how much white, sex, supply and demand etc. I picked up my high white pied girl for $200 but that was because she was labeled a biter and non eater. She hasn't even made an effort to bite me in almost 1.5 years and she ate better than my boas as a baby.

OMG this reminds of the time I went to petsmart to get some mealworms and superworms and one of the employees told me that I had to smash the heads of superworms before feeding it because they can eat their way out of a reptile's stomach . LOL never mind gastric acid or the blunt force from the reptile's mouth.
