Help! Corn snake red mites

Those look like freckles, snow corns often have them. Have they moved at all? Snake mites are not that color red.

You get rid of mites by treating with certain poisons, do not treat your snake with a poison unless you absolutely have to.

I've dealt with mites before. I's no big deal. But they are a pain in the butt to get rid of. But defiantly not anything to freak out about
If you have any other reptiles, be sure to keep your snake in a separate room.
Bathe your snake everyday. Wash your tank with a gently soap everyday. Zoo Med's mite spray and Natural Chemistry mite spray both work great. I've used both.
Do this everyday for 30 days. If there's still mites, repeat for another 30 days.
Mite eggs hatch after 7-10 days. You can't see the eggs because they are hidden in the scales. Mites can live for 30-40 days on a host. Without a host, they only live for 10-12 hours.
If you have other reptiles, be sure to change your clothes before taking care of them after you wash the tank and snake so that the mites don't spread.

Couple of things here. Mite eggs can take several weeks to hatch depending on temperature, and mites do not lay their eggs ON the snake. The female mite will drop off of the snake and find a tight crevice to squeeze into to lay their eggs. Generally the corner of a cage or piece of cage furniture. I once saw a particularly bad infestation where the mites had wedged themselves into the end of a roll of paper towels that was sitting right outside the cage. There were so many mites wedged in between the sheets of paper on the end of the roll that you could see several concentric rings of mites. The brown mites showed up quite well against the white paper.

They could be mites. When one of my snakes had mites, sometimes they were red. I've found that It's usually it's the small/ baby mites that are red.

I have had the red mites before and they are wood mites from the reptibark bedding I was using. I switched to newspaper and have not had an issue since.

So did everyone figure out if its mites or not? I never new that the bark it's self has mites.

OP I hope we helped you... I learned something in your thread I'm going to bake my bark to kill stuff I always that Zoo Med and other companies stuff was ok. If I did not see your thread I would not of learned this today ..... please let us know how this turned out.

The red dots aren't multiplying or moving, I also don't feel any texture on them so for now I assume they are just a pigment.
