    New Digs for Starbuck

As posted back in January, I purchased a 36X18X24 Exo Terra for this new animal. Due to massive glass viv heft, and technical issues, I never had the chance to switch him over from his original old aquarium. The Exo ended up getting crammed with small tropical plants instead. The plants did well there, although even top mounted Jungle Dawn LED's don't quite illuminate down to the dim depths of the floor, two feet below.

The switch took all day (and, I still don't have his RHP mounted yet). Turns out, it is just as much of a PITA to deal with plants in that old tall tank as it was the snake. Now, I want another big front opening Exo Terra, just for the plants. (One can dream, anyway...) At least they are back in a humid and lit environment.

So the transfer went mostly smoothly. There was some trouble with the t-stat probe after the snake was placed in the Exo, and extra difficulty fixing that DID make him a little stressed out. Nevertheless, Starbuck is an easy-going animal, and less than ten minutes after I left the room, I found him up on the magnetic ledges, poking around the perimeters. He is now gracefully draped over another ledge, busy digging out the (expensive) ABG viv-safe potting mix holding the one plant I added in there.

...Where planted tank dreams meet reality, I guess.

    Sorry about no pics.
I can not seem to work a digital camera - never mind get them on to a computer, and then on to a forum.

Used to be good at photography back when cameras used film canisters, and back when the camera didn't make decisions for you about the settings. grrr.

    Just hate the damn things.
