Crestie egg substrate question

Hi, just wondering what type of substrate you guys use for your cresties. I use damp sphaghnum moss, is that okay or do I need something else?

For the eggs I use perlite (holds humidity better), I place the perlite in a deli cup, place the egg tray in http://www.pangeareptile.com/store/#/product/30478 , put the eggs in the tray, close the lid and incubate at room temp.

Regardless of the eggs (snakes or lizards) they are never in direct contact with the substrate.

I incubate mine in vermiculite. I dampen it until it hold form but no loose water comes out when it is squeezed in my fist. The eggs go right into the vermiculite, about half buried. It is important not to rotate the eggs.
