How long should I wait to look?! Should I keep this method or was he just ready?

So I bought my beautiful super pastel 4 weeks ago tomorrow and I've tried feeding 5 times including pk, f/t, and live and he never even showed interest. Well I decided to tried another f/t tonight with little hope. I thawed and heated and he has one of those exo Terra large snake caves so I kept putting the head in and out of the hole and he struck and I dropped it, I was like oh f@$k I messed up so I tried again and kept inching it through the hole and he struck and took it! The only thing is I can't see inside to see if he ate it and if everything is going ok. Should I wait till morning? Should I wait an hr? Or what?

What I did this time was instead of taking the frozen rat out of the vacuum sealed bag I thawed right in it and then turned on my electric heater and turned it toward his cage and held rat with tongs and blasted it with heat until it was 100 degrees. Should I do this every time or was he just ready?
This is seriously one of the happiest moments in my life! I didn't think this day would come for awhile. Hopefully he did eat it.

Sorry if I'm over reacting, all my other herps eat like crazy and I've never have had trouble feeding them. A bp is definitely a new challenge for me, especially bc I'm not the patient type.

Wait 30 min and then you can check on him ... Usually they will have it down the hatch within 5 min after they are convinced it is dead .... But just to be on the safe side give him 30 min just to make sure you don't catch him in the middle of swallowing it and startle him

As long as you have got your husbandry correct, once he is comfortable in his enclosure he will probably lighten up a Lil .... As far as your feeding/prep method this time, sounds good ..... If you "scent" his enclosure or the room he is in, it will put him into feeding mode .... I usually thaw my feeders out and then once they are thawed/room temp, I then move them to the snake room and let them sit on a heat mat with a heat lamp on them and usually after 15 to 20 min they are about 100℉ and then I feed everyone .... By warming the feeder up in the room with the snake you are scenting the room up and when your snake smells it they go into feed mode .... By the time I open the tub to present them with the feeder they are already waiting for it and I'm lucky to get the feeder all the way in the tub before they snatch it ..... So yes your last used method with using the heat gun in the room your snake is in will be your best bet, I think you'll find it only gets easier from here

Ha... it will get easier... it may take a couple of feedings, but it will get easier. Just don't stress over it.
