Flame Bumblebee or Vanilla Bumblebee?
Hello everyone,
I recently had a clutch hatch out from a Flame Vanilla X Bumblebee pairing. When they first hatched out, it was really tough for me to tell whether they had flame or vanilla in them. Now that they have gone through their second shed and have put some size on, there is definitely a difference between the two. I think the female is a flame bee and the male is a vanilla bee, but this is my first time trying to identify these combos, so it might be vise versa. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
First picture is of the female. She has nice yellow color and is much cleaner than the male.

Second picture is of the male. He has more of a faded yellow color and his black is also more faded than the female. He has a lot more speckling too.

Again, I don't know enough to say - but I can say that they're both gorgeous! I may have to consider looking for a girl like that...

Most likely: female carries the vanilla gene and the male carries the fire gene. However, there is so much variation between individual animals that it is very difficult to tell especially when you add other morphs into the gene pool. They could be the opposite, they could be both flame or they could be both vanilla. Hard to tell without breeding them to specific morphs. I think this is why vanilla creams have become less popular to the breeding folks.
