Re: Too much too soon for my new bp?
Generally, it is best to leave a newly acquired snake to acclimate to their enclosure for about a week before handling. Honestly, its not going to be the end of the world since youve already handled her. Just leave her to settle for like 6 days.

^^^ what she said. And thank you for taking your snake on for the next 30 years of your life! Some people don't realize how long they live and all too often they end up dumped on someone else or returned. They are a responsibility, and I am happy you are coming here to learn! The folks here are great, and have tons of experience. I learn something here every day!

Re: Too much too soon for my new bp?
Personally, I wait two meals before I regularly start handling. This gives the snake time to adjust and start consistently eating. You'll have 30 years to handle her so just give her time to settle in.

How was she eating with the last owners?
At a year old I wouldn't worry too much about a 7 day hands off.
Just remember short times.
