Too much too soon for my new bp?

I just got my new bp yesterday afternoon, a 1 year old female. I've left her alone for much of the day as I've read they're nocturnal, but at night and the early morning I've been handling her quite a lot and she's been pretty active and curious seeming (her original owners handled her a bit but I think for the most part she was kept in her tank) I want her to get used to me and feel comfortable with me because if all goes according to plan I'll have her for the next 30 years of my life, but I also don't want to overwhelm her with too much stress and activity. She seems content hanging out around my neck , she's not acting defensive or curling into a ball, so should I assume she's ok? Or should I hold off on the handling for awhile until she settles? Any advice is much appreciated!

Generally, it is best to leave a newly acquired snake to acclimate to their enclosure for about a week before handling. Honestly, its not going to be the end of the world since youve already handled her. Just leave her to settle for like 6 days.

Some people don't realize how long they live and all too often they end up dumped on someone else or returned. They are a responsibility, and I am happy you are coming here to learn! The folks here are great, and have tons of experience. I learn something here every day!

Personally, I wait two meals before I regularly start handling. This gives the snake time to adjust and start consistently eating. You'll have 30 years to handle her so just give her time to settle in.

Same here except I usually wait 3-4 meals until I work on friendship but generally the same idea.

How was she eating with the last owners?
At a year old I wouldn't worry too much about a 7 day hands off.
Just remember short times.
