    no cutting Ikea rack

I put together another cheap rack and figured I'd share incase anyone else hates trying to make perfectly cut shelves. Ikea Utrusta shelves come in a few sizes that are perfect for DIY racks and still give you nice finished edges.
These are the 36" shelves. a 2 pack is $14 so depending how high you want it to be buy however many shelves then the wood for legs. I just had the legs cut to size at Home Depot so I didnt have to deal with dust and pulling stuff out at home. So about $85 in supplies plus screws if you dont have any.

You'll be building it up side down so make sure shelf is upside down to start. I didn't get a picture putting the 4 legs onto the top shelf because I did it alone and it was a pain trying to balance everything but its obviously important to get the legs and top shelf on nice and square so the rest of the shelves go on level.
Next you'll need to take your kids princess book that she already ripped half of the pages from or scribbled in and rip the covers off. These will be used as spacers so you have a little bit of wiggle room for your tubs.

Then you just continue the layering process of using the princess book cover and tubs as spacers for each shelf. I put 2 screws in each leg.

When you get to the top (bottom) then flip it over and youre done! After I get the heat tape in I'll cut some cheap panelling to give the sides and back a finished look and help hold in heat. So under $100 plus heat and thermostat and this will hold 28 hatchling tubs and 6 15qt on the bottom 2 rows. Weird timing that I decided I needed another rack a few days before an expo..

They have a size perfect for 28qt boxes too. This just has a partial door on it that I can lock on top so the kids can't get into it.

Beautiful rack! How how many feet of heat tape would you need to cover all that?

How come the last pic the legs are wood instead of the white? What is the material?

sorry I see that's a different rack. Sorry for confusion.

Each row is 3' and I prefer leaving it as 1 long piece instead of cutting for each row so I figured 3' per shelf plus about 8" extra to weave down. I usually just over order by a foot or two instead of ending up short since it's so cheap.

I just used extra wood I already had for that one and figure if I ever get around to finishing the sides it'll cover the wood better.

I mean, there's just a teensy tiny chance I'll find something that needs to come live with me. My husband got home and just kinda shook his head and said "well that's a lot of boxes". Hopefully he takes what I spent on the Bean Farm as well too lol
