Racks and heat
So, my dad is annoying me with a huge amount of questions ever since I brought up the idea of getting a rack which is what I want to do. The main question he has is, if I have the ball pythons in a rack, and because for some dumb reason, in the summer my mom refuses to run ac so the house Is generally about 90' in the summer. My dad says that since the snakes would be in a plastic cage then the plastic would heat up making the cage over 100', I tried explaining the thermostat but he says that that won't cool it down, just shut off the heating in the cage. Is this a problem to have a rack in a room that is 90'? Thanks.

That is pretty warm for an ambient temp. No thermostat is going to cool your rack down, it'll just turn off the heat tape. I don't have AC and it also gets warm in the summer, but just using a couple fans to ventilate keeps the house down around 80 at worst.

If you have ventilation holes in the plastic tubs it would keep it less then 100F... I highly doubt it would get that hot anyway. If it really does get that hot, a frozen water bottle wrapped in a towel (to avoid direct contact to the snake, would help it cool down. I use this for my mice cages as it does get hot in my room. The mice will cuddle up to the water bottles, so it definitely helps. BUt this is just one solution.
