Staying on the Cool Side?

Hello again. I had another quick question. Kayly, my 10-month-old female ball, is constantly sleeping in the coolest corner of her tank. She's not even in a hide. She's not dead because she gets up and moves around at night. She even does this when the warm side temps are around 84°-86°. Does this preference to cold just make her a weird snake or is it a sign of sickness I should be worried about?

The hot spot should be 90F. Raising it may help.

That's only a rare temp. Most of the time, it's much closer to 90° already. She still hangs out in the cool corner.

Our male is in a tank that has a hot side at 90 and cold side at 80. He is always on the cold side as well. If I aim the temp gun at him he is usually 80-82. Our females seem to self regulations at 85-87. None show any issues health wise.

Alright. That's good to know. I'll keep my eye out on her. I don't have a temp gun and I imagine they're rather expensive. She's only cool to the touch and not cold so I think she's good.

If you have the proper temps, they will know when they are too cold or warm.

Temp guns are very cheap, you can pick one up for 15-25 bucks. Great way to spot check your temps and other thermometers. How are you checking and controlling the temps currently? Is the hide the right size and enclosed? My snakes generally hang out on the cool side unless right after eating but the pythons are always in a hide.
