    Clown question? How much?

I got a guy selling a pastel clown male. And a pastel het clown female he proved out this year. All adult snakes. Proven pair. What are they worth? I have not followed the clown project at all but might me interested in jumping into it. What's a fair price for the pair?

Depends on where you are and how much you are willing to spend. In my area clowns are found in so many collections now that the demand for them is not so high enough to make them super expensive. More expensive then a pied but even pieds are super cheap now. The fact that the female is a proven breeder (if the breeder can prove that she is) and is pastel het clown will make her more expensive then a younger plain pastel. Pastels are cheap cheap cheap but add in that she is older and experienced and a het, your looking to spend almost double for her.

quick search on "internet site i wont post as i don't want to advertise for others" put a female pastel hit for 200 and male pastel clown at 500 now add shipping and size differences (believe both were hatching's) and you can guess how much they are worth. hes right about pastel's though they are very common so not the most hard to find morph but any recessive even hit for it can be a key to getting the morph combo's you want in the long run. in the end its up to you as to what you want and how much your willing to pay for it. but that gives you a price point of anything below 700 being a mind blowing good deal.

    Price

He has the hatchlings from this year where the clown was proved out. I bet I can get them far below 700, but I had no idea where to look for a good price as online prices seem way higher than what I can get things for around here. This is for my daughters project. I am thinking even if I can get them for a steal I might pads as I don't want to spend more than 300 for the pair, which might be possible. I'll have to contact him tomorrow and see what he says. He just had a baby and is getting out if the hobby for a while.

^ if u can get a proven breeder visual Clown male and a proven breeder pastel het Clown female for $300 - that's the steal of a lifetime. $300 is like the price of a female pastel 100% het clown hatchling/juvenile and getting a more expensive snake free.

    Re: Clown question? How much?

I know, I just am not sure I want the clown gene. Cool looking as babies, but adults they really are not to cool IMO. If they were pied id probably have jumped on then already. I am still thinking about it, I know some of you probably think I'm nuts but I only want to really add what I want to produce. Never really followed the clowns much. I am in this for my daughters sake, not really to make money, although if that happens it goes to her college fund.
