I think my ball python might be stuck?

My ball python looks like it's stuck in a hole in its hide. Should I try to pull them out? I just got it a few days ago so I'm worried it won't be too happy with me.

Don't pull it out. If it got in it can get out. Or stroke it's tummy. That should make him wiggle and losen up

This. Snake hides should be snug but open-bottomed so that you simply have to lift it off of the critter if needed. Most aquarium décor is a solid piece with just a hole that is plenty big for fish, but not appropriate for a snake, as it can get stuck.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't see that question when I replied, no the decor wasn't made for aquariums it was for reptiles and it turned out that she was fine, it is just a tight fit. Thanks!

Usually, if someone even has this kind of worry for a minute, it's not an appropriate hide...

Better to be safe than sorry, you know! Get an easy, open bottom hide with no weird holes and crevices.

I'd stay away from any fully enclosed hide for safety's sake. I prefer the lighter hides anyways (like the Exo-Terra reptile caves and the RBI hides). Some of my snakes are getting too big for the RBI hide entrance, so they just lift the whole thing up when they go inside and let it come down over them. The only downside to the lighter hides is that "hermit-crabbing." The BPs seem to figure out they can take their hide with them and will move it all over the place.

I'd definitely remove the hide immediately. My first snake actually did get stuck in his hide very badly and I had to break the hide off of him just to get him out. It peeled off quite a bit of scales so he has a scar from the incident. It was my first snake so I didn't know better, I thought they would know what they could get stuck in but they do not and will get stuck.
