    Breaking News - He Pooped!

3 weeks of snake ownership and his royal Awesomeness pooped. In his water bowl. It actually worked out pretty well as I treated him with reptile spray again last night. Cleaned out the cage, wiped it all down, put fresh paper towel in. For the first time in a long time he did not head straight to the water bowl. Mite treatment working? This morning he was in the back corner of the cage and the water bowl was like a nuclear waste dump

What I have noticed since I took the substrate away is that he has not been in any of his hides. He generally chills at the back of the tank.

I'm not sure if that would indicate that the treatment is working. But you seem pretty happy that he's pooped.

That's why I questioned it Historically he headed straight to his water bowl.

Ah, that part may be an indication as to the fact that the treatment is working. But you will have to wait for someone with more experience (Possibly experience with mites) for that question to be answered. I do hope that this is an indication that the mites will be gone soon, best of luck.

Yes it would mean the mites are going away because he is not in his bowl trying to drown them, just try to treat weekly for at least a month then for the next six months treat monthly just in case!

I would wait out the month so you can still see mites on the paper if they are still there. After that you should be good to switch back.
