    Couldn't help it...bought a BRB

I've been looking at pictures and pining for one and finally let myself go to a local reptile show (pretty much knowing I'd come back with a BRB).

So I got this little guy. Haven't come up with a name yet and he's just a cute little worm at the moment (weighing in at a whopping 33 grams). He was the biggest of his litter and very curious and mild mannered. I'm so happy to finally have a boa and can't wait to watch him grow up. Here's a few pics of the little bugger:

lol right! Now I'm wishing I had gotten the Herpstat 4. Good thing the T8 I bought came with a bunch of extra on/off thermostats, which are working fine for now.

Looks like you went the same path as me. From two BPs to a BRB.

The little guy finally found his warm hide and settled in and it takes all my willpower to just let him be. I won't be able to get a pinkie mouse until Wednesday or even Friday, so the first feeding will have to wait.

Sooo tiny! Even smaller than either of mine were when they arrived, and even their birth weights if I'm not mistaken. Congrats again (saw your post on another site)!

Little guy scared me today. I had put in a small water bowl with some moss to try and increase the humidity (maybe about an inch and a half deep).

When I looked in his cage this morning, I couldn't find him anywhere. Not in the hide or in any cracks or crevices. I was worried at first that he escaped, but then I looked at that little moss bowl. Pulled the moss out and there he was at the bottom of the bowl, not moving. Had a moment of panic thinking my snake had drowned and I pulled him out of there. Then his little head moved and he looked up at me and flicked hit tongue out and I had a sigh of relief.

I guess it's normal for these snakes to go under the water (he was apparently using the moss as a hide of sorts), but it still freaked me out a bit. I am having trouble keeping humidity up, so I think I need to get a substrate in there like cypress mulch (currently just paper towels). I have seen him drinking however and now he has figured out where to soak.

There's no risk of him drowning in that little water bowl is there?
