Good deal on used Vision cages?
Hey Everyone,
I picked up two used Vision 400 4x2x1 on Craigslist for 400$ total and am now wondering if I got a fair deal. One cage is in nearly perfect condition, and one has some minor bowing on the top, with some mild discoloration, but is otherwise in great condition. I didn't see the bowing until after purchasing.
I just saw that AP is having a sale on their t8 cages for 150$ each. Wondering if I should resell these Visions or keep. What do yall think?

I would be happy. Remember with the T8 you still have to add in shipping ($45 each), assemble it, and seal it.
The Vision enclosures start at $350 for the 48" wide models. You also never have to worry about it leaking of a seal fails.

Yeah that's true. Just wish I would have seen the bowing in the one cage before I bought it. The cages were stacked when I checked them out. Do RHPs mount well to such thin plastic? Was thinking I might need to use a nut and bolt to secure rather than screws.

Re: Good deal on used Vision cages?
If you use bolts, also use washers to spread the load. Or if there's space, screw through the cage into a wooden cleat.

Thanks. Yeah I was planning on using washers. Wondering if it is necessary to bolt on or if a screw would suffice.

Nice p/u Josh.
I would rather have Vision myself.
I've heard that the early model Visions had the warp problems.
I've been to a breeder that had them stacked to the ceiling along one whole wall. They looked great. These were 2 and 3 footers though.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Re: Good deal on used Vision cages?
I don't have Vision cages, so can't help with that; but if you're concerned and there's no clearance issues, a few sets of bolts, etc. (diameter to fit screw holes) is cheap peace of mind.

Re: Good deal on used Vision cages?
Yeah, I think I might keep the non-bowed one and sell the other. I actually am thinking of ordering an AP T8 and hook up both to RHPs and see which ones I like best.
Kind of of wish I went with new AP to begin with, but I jumped on these when they became available.

Clarence shouldn't be an issue so I will do that.

I would keep the bowed one, as long as it's secure, even if just as a QT enclosure for a larger snake. You can never have too many enclosures.
