I need to get some ideas for my 2.5 foot ball python. For a cage what can I build that will last the entire life and yet will look good in my living room. I have though if the snake will be healthier in an unattractive cage then that is better right? I can always get a nice tank with a nice stand, but they don't hold temp or humidity. So my question is can I see some of everyones cages? Sterlite and home made out of wood and plastics. Or ideas I just don't know what to do.

Glass enclosures can be rigged to hold proper temps and humidity, its just that its much EASIER to do it with plastic, in most cases needing no modification at all.

Wood setups are tedious because you will need to seal the wood somehow, because the humidity levels you need for a BP will cause the wood to mold eventually. So then you get into a way to treat and seal the wood, and something that isn't going to harm the BP in any way. So you see where that road takes you.

Plastic containers are easy, efficient, and IMO don't look good at all. The looks of them wouldn't stop me though, as they are great for keeping a healthy snake.

Sounds to me like you want something that is going to look good and be functional. Ever consider Animal Plastics or Vision caging? These are a little bit more expensive, but work great, are easy to clean, and look very professional. Otherwise I think your only option is to rig a glass enclosure.
