Baby BP question
Just got a baby bp about 3 weeks ago and wanted to make sure I'm doing everything right.
So, temp in her hot spot is 88-90 degrees. Ambient temp stays pretty steady at 75 degrees. Humidity is around 60% but sometimes gets a little higher. I have her on a 5 day eating cycle so i'll feed her again today. Last friday she ate two hopper mice with no problems at all. Should she be eating more than that or is two hoppers ok? They are appropriatly sized, i just wanted to make sure that two every 5 days is enough.

Re: Baby BP question
How big is she? Hoppers are what is used to start hatchlings out of the eggs and once they have a few meals in they quickly upgrade to the next size up and eat adult mice in no time at all.
Every 5 days is fine however you might want to look into a bigger prey.

Re: Baby BP question
I was just going by the size of her thickest part. If I get a bigger mouse, should I still give her two? She is about 1 1/2 feet, maybe slightly less. I need to get a scale so I can started weighing her.

If it look like the same size as her girth you are good, hard for me to tell not knowing the weight, just know that they outgrow hoppers pretty fast (than again it depends on what your store calls hoppers)

I actually did think they looked a little big for hoppers but this is my first time having a pet snake in a really long time. I am going to go get a scale tomorrow so I can weigh her on a regular basis. Also was wanting to know a good way to keep the humidity up in her tank. It was staying pretty steady at 60% but the last couple days has fallen to 45-50%. I think she might be getting ready to shed so i know it needs to be a little higher. I have some moss that my son uses in his tarantula tanks and was thinking of puttung some in hers. What would you suggest. I've misted the inside and covered the top but it goes right down again.
