    What fish to feed garters

I recently got a baby garter and have been feeding it worms, but it needs a better diet so I'm adding some fish into his feeding schedule. I've heard a lot about thiaminase and I know not to feed goldfish but that's all that I'm sure of. What small live fish are good feeders for a baby garter?

When I was young, we just fed them with minnows from the local bait shop. They were native to the same area that the snake was from.

They'll eat pinkies as well , of course ...
    Worms / fish / mice = varied diet .

I found out the hard way after losing a garter that a supposedly thiaminase-free feeder fish does in fact contain it.

If your snake can take small feeder fish then it's big enough for f/t mouse pinkies. You can get frozen fish and use it to scent the pinkies to convert it over.
