Re: Possibly pastel/ lesser pastel?
Yeah, looks like a normal to me. If you want a website that has lots of examples of the different morphs check out world of ball pythons look at their morph list.

Nothing even remotely close to pastel in any of those photos.

Re: Possibly pastel/ lesser pastel?
If you do a little bit of lurking on World of Ball Pythons you can start to get an idea of different morphs. Look around for a local breeder you can probably pick up a nice little Pastel for the price of a normal at Petsmart. A concern I have about your story; you said when you brought yours home he shared a tank with your roommate's male. Just for future reference, this is something you should avoid at all cost.
First, if either of your animals were sick you just immediately exposed the other to the illness. When you pick up a new animal you should keep it isolated from any other snakes/reptiles for an extended period of time until you are certain there are no issues. Usually 60 to 90 days is pretty common practice.
Second, Ball Pythons are not communal animals so it is likely that one or both animals may get stressed by the arrangement, sometimes causing them to go off feed.
Last, in rare instances one will cannibalize the other.
I am glad you were fortunate enough to not have any of these happen, but I wouldn't take it as a sign that you should do it again.
