Omg the worse thing just happened!!

I have a question, but i have to tell the story first.

So, I'm the one with all the feeding questions. So I fed my BP Osiris tonight. I've had him the longest though I think he is the youngest, and he's definitely the smallest. Its my second attempt at feeding him, he rejected the mice last week. Today I did everything right! I didn't handle him at all today, didnt go into his tank at all, and i thawed his food out properly, i think that was the mistake I made last week. So I dangle the mouse in the tank for a few minutes trying to get Osiris attention, initially he didn't pay attention at all. As i was dangling it i accidently dropped it and it landed behind him. well he went directly for it after that. i stayed in the room with him until i saw him take it in his mouth and start trying to swallow, then i turned off everything and left the room. I gave him an hour and then i came back to check on my other BPs who are in the same room but different tank. i looked in his tank to see where he would be so id know where he goes after he eats. theres a lot of fake plants and vines in his tank, and there is one area he can go where he can hide completely and i wont see him at all, so i thought that was where he was. i turn the light off in the room and go to close the door behind me, tell me why Osiris is clear across the room crawling on the floor!!!!!!! i only saw his tail but i knew it was a snake. i actually thought he was one of my other ones because he was under another tank. nope, it was him, everyone else is in their tanks!

    so my question is,

    1. do they normally become active again so soon after eating? i assumed he would just go somewhere and try to digest his food, the last thing i expected was to find him crawling around, not even in his tank let alone out of it, to the floor somehow and across the room.

    2. if he were to regurgitate his food how soon would it happen? hes back in his tank now and still crawling around. trying to find a way out again i assume.

As long as he ate that's good. Just leave him be. He will find the warm spot to digest, or he will just crawl around till he is ready to settle. Long as the hot and cool sides are good don't worry about it. As far as his escape.....shut, lock, double and triple check all tanks before leaving room!!!! Did I say double and triple check the tanks and locks.....Your lucky you saw him or he might of been gone forever! CHECK CHECK CHECK the locks!!

Yeah you're right about checking. I'm usually pretty good about that. I was so excited he went for the mouse that I didn't ensure he was locked in. I just ran out the room so not to distract or disturb him.

Man too many folks think these snakes are more fragile than fresh blown glass!

They are hardier than you think.

Could not agree more with blk02. Did you check the cage locks?
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

That would definitely qualify as worse.

He's going to be a little more explorative for a while. Since he got out once he'll be looking for the way back out again. Mine pushes the locks and the limits.
