We've never taken ours outside. I know several people here do, though, so I suppose as long as it's warm enough outside and they're not out for a very long time, it's fine.

I've done it once or twice where they didn't stay on me, but not for long. I too am worried about ticks.

i pay enough attention to my snakes to notice if they have ticks, so taking them outside doesn't scare me at all.

I personally take mine out everyday in a large rubbermaid and leave them there for 6-8 hours. I think that sun is good for them, they also digest faster. I just make sure that I mist them 2 or 3 times while outside. BTW, I only do this in summertime and in sunny days when it's not summer which is quite often here in California. Don't get me wrong I also let them roam in the grass.

i'm no genius, but that doesn't sound like a very good idea.

Danny, do you provide them with hides inside the rubbermaids?

Yes, I do provide hides. I've been doing this for the longest without any bad results. It would be a bad idea if it was a glass enclosure.
