Ball python eggs past due

So I have my first clutch that was laid on April 27, 2015. The clutch had one slug and all others looked fine, on day 55 I mad the decision to cut them for fear of them drowning as I have read. After a few days I could tell the slug was for sure dead as it began to stink, so I removed it and then another egg that you could visibly see was developed died a few days later. I did a very careful job while cutting and only cut a hole big enough for them to squeeze their heads through. And they are being held in a reptibator at 89 degrees. I cut them on day 55 and the 5 eggs that remain I check every day or so and they are still alive and wiggling around. But from everything I've read they should have come out of the egg after day 10 or so. It's day 70 I believe (July 10, 2015) am I doing something wrong? Should they have come out by now?

How sure are you on your temps?

100% I have the reptibator which tells me the temp and I also put a separate temp gauge inside. Although it may have fluctuated from 88 to 89 a few times but never been less than 88 and never higher than 90.

Hopefully people with more clutches under there belt will chime in. My clutch went to day 61 before the first pip and last one come out on day 67 and I cut on day 55. I would just wait them out. If you can tell they are alive they are probably fine. Have you peeked in and looked at them at all?

And I looked at your other post were the temps from inside the egg tub itself or the incubator itself?

Yes I open it and check on them every other day and use a q tip to slightly rub off any bacteria on the top.

I made the mistake ( i say mistake but it might not be) of putting the all in separate containers with lids and then set the thermometer on top of them. But once day 55 came I transferred them all into one container so that after I cut them it was a larger container then the size of the egg and they have room to crawl out of the egg, if that makes any sense. And to answer your question it was just inside the incubator not the tubs.

I bet they incubated at a lower temp than u think. To get a temp of 89 in my egg tubs my incubator is set to 92. That being said they will just take longer to hatch

If the probe was in the incubator, not the egg tub, the eggs probably incubated at a different temperature than you think.

Yeah you are probably right, so does that mean I cut to soon? And do you think they will be ok?
