    Burm Breeding??

Title basically says it all.. I'm interested in breeding burms, do temps need to be dropped and animals taken off food like with BP's or keep temps constant and keep feeding? Any other tips feel free to comment! Thanks!

I don't have any large constrictor experience but I think I read somewhere that they need a bit of a cooldown. Are you sure about breeding them? Do you have a guaranteed market with the Lacey Act still in effect?

Actually, if you can find a niche market where you would be one of a few breeders you could possibly make a killing. In my area hatchlings are snatched up like hot cakes. Just make sure you know what you are in for when breeding burms. It is no small feat to get a full size female burm off of her eggs. Plus, hatchlings grow like wild-fire. You definitely need to make sure you have some buyers lined up and at least some interest in the market, because like stated earlier, you cant ship. You don't want to be stuck with a bunch of these little guys. It is unbelievable how fast they grow.

As a side note. I would gain some large snake experience BEFORE breeding. Its a whole new ball game with 10+ foot snakes.

I've kept big snakes before (13ft retic and 11ft burm) and worked with tons of others, just never bred any. I only know of a handful of breeders near me so the market is pretty demanding.
