BP never comes out of hide

So my BP is a 1 and 1/2 year old who in the past i would spot traveling his cage and hanging out atop of his trees and out of his hide but the last few months he is always in his hide unless i take him out. He is friendly and mobile when i take him out, eats fine, sheds fine, but for some reason spends all his time insidehis cave. Is this normal? I used to see him out and about in his tank so i feel its strange, maybe hes just getting older? His tank is in a backroom in my house with little to no traffic so he isnt scared of surroundings....it's my 1st snake so maybe im expecting too much. Is he normal?

If all husbandry is on, he's eating, pooping and shedding then there is nothing to worry about. Snakes go through phases both seasonal and age related.
