    Feeding

Just a question everyone. What was the longest off feed your had with your bp. Right now my bee still hasn't eaten since last November when I paired him with me female. I was pairing both my fire/spider and bee on and off and basically all of my snakes went off feed for months but last Friday my fire/spider finally took a small rat. The only one that has not eaten yet is the bee. At what point do you think I need an assist feed, or do I hold out and keep trying? All husbandry is on spot, they are in a 41qt tub rack and have been since about 400grms. Questions? Concerns? suggestions?

    Re: Feeding

IMO, I would put a hide in the tub and just continue to offer different prey items. Maybe think about something live to get her started back. Take every thing out of the tub first, deep clean it and sprinkle a little cypress mulch under the hide b4 you put her back in. 100% cypress mulch only! Use very little bc it will raise the humidity right away. It's basically like making a little humid hide inside the tub. Hope this helps.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

TY I will try the cleaning and see if that helps. I have always feed live.

My BP was off of food since I got her (~4 months) until just recently. She had a respiratory infection when I got her, and she was still being stubborn after it cleared up. I tried feeding her live mice and rats of all shapes, colors, and sizes without any luck. I started to consider assist feeding because she was starting to get really skinny. I was tired of buying live prey regularly without any luck, so I tried feeding a F/T mouse. After thirty minutes of coaxing, I was able to get her to eat for the first time since I got her. I guess she was having none of that live stuff (even though that is what she was being fed before I brought her home), which is okay by me since I know she's eating.

I fed her another F/T mouse last week, and she ate it in less than two minutes. Who knew all it would take was switching from live to F/T. It's worth a try, if you haven't tried it yet!
