You can't ship live rats. They are treated the same as dogs and cats, meaning they have emotions and feelings. If you wanted to purchase it would be like purchasing a dog, you'd need to go to the airport to pick it up right off the plane.
Live rats can be shipped however it is very pricey.
There will be a minimum order, rats must be shipped in a special crate airport to airport, a certificate of good health from a vet prior to shipping is also required.
Bottom line anyone looking into live rats shipped is easily looking at 20$ or more per rat.
There is a delivery service in the midwest that will deliver to your door. I use to ship rats and mice. However they don't go to the east coast. I have no idea if you have anything like that on the east coast.
