    My first time and theirs

    hey,

after some advise I got yesterday I decided to put my Super Pastel Calico male in the tub with my Lesser Pastel female.

    Super pastel Calico

Lesser Pastel (this is the most recent photo I had of her, she has grown quite a lot since this photo was taken)

When I woke up this morning I ofcourse couldn't wait to check and see if they where getting the idea of why they where put together and then I saw this

I feel so happy right now.

The past few months really have been rough on me and where a up-hill struggle but waking up to this sure gives me enough to get me going!

    Thanks!

    I am gonna need it!

I was just starting to read about breeding bp's to get ready for the 15/16 season, then i got the advise from some people to put in a male with this girl when I asked some questions about her.
I placed him in and a couple of hours later I saw the lock, I have seen 2 separate locks today but I have no idea yet where to go from here, other then to take him out like tomorrow or so and and place him in with her again in about 4 weeks again, but that's it.

I have no idea how long/how many times I have to keep putting him in with her, no idea when to keep a eye out for an ovulation and whatever other things, so I am gonna continue reading, but if anyone would like to share his wisdom with me, feel free!!

Hey AR, what I got for you is its approximately 4 months and 5 days from beginning to pair to laying of eggs. Then it's approx. 84 days from pairing to ovulation. Ovulation to pre lay shed is 13 days. Ultimately the pre lay shed occurs and thirty days after that should be the egg laying. Congrats man! Those are some awesome bp's and a great pairing! Just keep pairing them once or twice a month until you see a ovulation or she swells and puts on the grams.

Interesting, I didn't know about the "its approximately 4 months and 5 days from beginning to pair to laying of eggs". We paired our Pastel for about 10 months before she laid. I wonder how many actually lay within that time frame? We started pairing in the summer (as the poster is), and our Pastel held onto the eggs until laying season (two months ago). Our Pinstripe laid in December after pairing her for 6 months.

Id place him in there once every 2 weeks, As he is bigger it wont harm him, and itll guarantee better fertilization (Unless hes visiting other females to get a better break) As it is getting close to most peoples dropping eggs to finish.

    ok thanks,

can do every 2 weeks, this is the only girl he is visiting.

When I am gonna feed her, should I give her her regular sized prey or should I feed her smaller?

Feed her whatever she'll eat, my pastel girl just plain went off food at one point. While my normal has been off and on. So just kinda go with what she does, every snake is different.

Didn't you say she was only 1300 grams and a 2014 hatchling?
