Firebee about to Lay - Good Example

Forum members periodically ask questions whether "my female is about to lay". So thought I'd offer a good illustration. Here's a Firebee, bred to a blackhead about a week away. Notice her tight coil over the heat and the sharp spine "ridgeline". Both in my experience are telltale signs. At this stage, she'll remain in this position where a day prior she'll begin to lay inverted, almost in a contorted position to reset to squeeze out the eggs. Always over the heat. Others may offer similar or different advice, but hope this helps. Cheers,

    David

Nice picture and great description. I've noticed those signs too.
