    Pre-hatching nerves: One more week!

Surely the hardest part of breeding pythons is the last week before a highly anticipated clutch hatches?

I'm at day 48 and I'm almost too excited to sleep, anxiously awaiting the results of my Mochi Bee x Lemomblast. Hoping to hit the 5 gene Mochi Spinnerblast (not sure if this would be worlds first, it's not on WOBP) but would be happy enough to hit a quad.

She laid 8 healthy eggs, 2 of which died due to a strange green egg anomaly (http://thread here : http://ball-pyt...d.php?t=226094). I inspected the dead eggs, and neither of them looked to be a 4 or 5 gene snake. My math tells me I originally had a 23% chance at the 5 gene snake [(1-(31/32))^8] and a 74% chance at the quad, which is still the correct way to do this I believe, according to the Monty Hall problem, but I'm not 100%. I keep doing the math over and over, I'm obsessed!

I know I could probably do a tiny cut, but am trying to be patient and do what's best for the little guys. I plan on cutting a week from today.

Does anyone have any proven methods or good storied of getting through the last week? It's always torture for me!

Cutting helps, do it all the time & never had a problem. Depending on the eggs I typically cut at 52-54. Take your time and be careful. Then again if you see what looks like a 5-banger, you'll never sleep.
