Frozen Rodents and Moving - Save or Toss?
I'm moving as soon as the end of June or as late as the end of July. So I had a simple question:
Is it worth the hassle to attempt saving 4 trays(15-20 items each) of frozen rats from Big Cheese? I have a two hour car trip to make with a buffer zone of 30 minutes at each end. Or is the risk of partial thawing just not really worth the trouble? It's about $60-80 worth of feeders, but if buying new is best it's just what I'll have to do.

Spend 5-10 bucks for some dry ice, load a cooler and go. If you can find some, might take some looking. Seems like a lot of frozen rodents to waste otherwise. Or maybe see if you can find someone in the area who will buy what you have left when the time comes.
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?
Never argue with idiots. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

+1 on the dry ice and cooler, could also get some bags of ice and go that way if you cant find dry ice

Kroger usually carries dry ice if there's a store near you. It's just a little over a dollar a pound, so it shouldn't be very hard to get a hold of.

If they're sealed per usual from Big Cheese. I would grab a cooler, a bag or two of ice and go for it. If you can get the dry ice, better yet.

Another vote for cooler and dry ice here, and like others said, regular ice will work in a pinch. No reason to waste feeders!
