    Feeding in the water dish

First time he did this I took it as an accident,I grabbed the f/t rat out of his dish and he eventually ate it later. Last night he struck and coiled his f/t rat and as I watched him release it and start the swallowing process he purposely dragged it into his water bowl. I let him go this time and he swallowed it no problem. anybody else have a BP that does this ?

A couple of mine are dunkers/drowners too. I just replace the water bowl with a clean one later.

    Feeding in the water dish

My Ball has purposely drug the kill to water a few times.

My Boa landed in the water with the kill in full coil accidentally and went completely under. It did not phase her in the least. I had to to pull her out because she seemed like she was going to staying under for a long time.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Very cool picture, Many kinds of snakes can stay submerged for very long periods of time so I guess ball pythons can't be too different.

Well, that's about 3 1/2 inch deep bowl for the Boa. It's a temporary setup. I would hope that she would not drown or take on any water in her lungs, but I didn't want to test it.

The Ball just has a 1, 1/2 inch.

My calico pastel likes to soak in his bowl. Caught him like that once when I went to feed him and figured he might refuse to eat if I moved him myself so I just dropped his mouse in with him still in his bowl. He snagged it when it went to drink and pulled it under. He hasn't done it since, but I'm sure he would if given the chance.
