Active During the Day
Hi!
I got my first BP, Amadeus, last Saturday at a local expo. He seems healthy and ate on Thursday with no issues. His husbandry is on point based on the information that I've seen in caresheets and from my own research. He isn't showing any other potential signs of stress.
I've noticed that since his feeding, Amadeus has been outside of his hides more during the day. I'll be doing things in my room, close to his enclosure, and he'll peek his head out of his hide. A couple of minutes later he'll come out completely and just seems to be scoping out what I'm up to. Other times, he's just hanging out on top of his hides or just hanging around his tub. It's not like a nervous roaming or trying to get free, just moving around his space.
Is this normal or should I be concerned? I've had reptiles for the majority of my life, but this is my first snake.
EDIT: This isn't for long periods of time, either. Maybe 15-20 minutes at most.

Nothing to be concerned about. Some snakes roam some lay still. Sometimes the roaming is hunger, sometimes it is a boy looking for a girlfriend and sometimes they just roam.

Thank you so much!
I'm a bit of a worrier, so it's nice to know that everything is fine.

Nothing wrong with worrying. It shows you care about the animal and that is what matters. I was a basket case when I got my first snake lol
