Didn't use hide for entire day and night?!

So last night I walk into my room and to my surprise Marshall is out and about. Normally if he is out and I come in the room, he heads for his cave, not this time! He went all over his tank, on his background, and sticks. Something really funny happened actually, I took his water dish out to clean it and when I came back he was staring with such a shocked expression at where the dish is supposed to be haha. Then he went all the way up to the very top of his tank on his ledge and wedged himself in . He stayed this way the entire night and all today as well. He came down a while ago and took a monster poop(he lost 40 grams!!) and then went back up to his ledge. I've checked all temperatures multiple times and they are completely okay, he's just being a tree Python I guess? I fed him and he ate very enthusiastically, and has now disappeared into his cave for (most likely) the next two days.

Oh dear...it's been half an hour and he's still attempting to eat his rat.

As you said, your husbandry is good and he's eating and pooping just fine. I'm sure Marshall's fine. What's he up to this morning?

Lol thanks for the reassurance. This morning he is finally acting normal, and is in his hide happily digesting. Last night he attempted to get up to his ledge after he finally got his rat down, but he was so heavy he didn't make it up there haha! I guess the cave will have to do for now
