I went to PetLand yesterday during lunch to see what sort of feeders they have. I used to go there alot but go mostly to the reptile store for feeders. Well yesterday i walked in to look at the feeder mice they have and just like any other ball python owner i wanted to look at the ball pythons. Well. There were 2 babies in there they were obviously imports. One was shedding and had all of its shed skin still on it. The other one was severly dehydrated and had dents in its eyes. The tank had feces and urates all over the place and i know it wasn't from them because they were big urates like from a juvenile BP. They had a 1 tiny little hide.

The assistant manager of the store comes and asked me if i needed any help. I said "You guys need to help these ball pythons they are in horrible conditions"

I told him that they need more hides the cage needs to be cleaned and they need a bigger water bowl.

Then i asked how much they were he said they were 59.99 each.
I told him I wouldnt give him a dollar for both. They are going to need that much in vetrinary care once they are bought.

Then he asked me if i still wanted feeders. I just stormed out of there.

I am thinking about calling the Humane Society and reporting them. Should I?
    Thanks,
    Damien

Yeah you need to report them, it seems like almost all pet stores don't take good care of their animals and it's sad.

report them, next time I go into a pet store and see that I'm going to...and it does seem like every pet store I've been in lately keeps their reptiles in horrible living conditions and the animals never look healthy....angers me to no end!

i would deffinitly call. That seems so terrible i have ever seen anything like that before. At the pet store i volunteer at one of the balls had a not so good shed and had some stuck on his head and i told they guy he needed to raise the humididity and he said he would becuase people think they are unhealthy when they see skin stuck on em,next time i go in im going to give that guy a nice long warm bath and it should come off soon.

I have to agree with all of you. The way most pet stores keep their animals is horrendous. Most animals seem extremely unhappy and malnourished. Most store managers / owners don't seem to care about the well being of the animals as long as they can profit off of them. You should definitely report them.
