    Little cut on belly

I just noticed my little guy has a cut almost at the bottom of his belly. He didn't have this a week ago when I got him so had to happen in enclosure is my guess. Unless I was really blind when I bought him but I thoroughly looked him over.

Do you think it could be from the humidity reader he was climbing on?

Before making my own thread I did use the search function, is this something to use the betadine (sp?) on?

Thanks for the time and help.

Dunno that a little betadine would hurt. Maybe papertowels substrate to keep it clean. Anyone have a thought?

X2 - It is the opening where the umbilical cord came through the belly and ventral scales and was attached to the yolk sac inside the egg. It's on every baby and this question gets asked often enough that just reading the thread title, I knew what the issue was. Nothing to worry about and no treatment is necessary. Here is a link to a thread where someone had to cut the cord and you can see the opening. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...e-on-next-step
