Tank heat regulation recommendations
Hello! I am new to this forum, and joined because I am looking into buying myself a ball python. The only thing that's really keeping me from buying everything is that I really have no clue how to set up the heat regulation system. I've seen things like the Herpstat which look like great products but are quite pricey. Any recommendations on systems and tips on setting them up?

They are simple. You plug the heat source into the thermostat(tstat) and then place the probe from the tstat on the heat source or in the heat source heat path. You set the tstat to the needed temp and it controls the heat source to keep the right temp.
I only use Herpstat and have 4 of them. They are one of the higher priced but they are top of the line. I have had cheap tstat and all have died. The Herpstats are a great choice. Its cheaper to buy it right the first time instead of buying and having to replace a cheap one. I always suggest buying the best you can afford. A tstat is the most important thing you will buy for your setup so do go too cheap.

My budget is about $200 max including the snake, which I plan on being either a fireball or a pastel depending on what's available on the internets. I do not mind waiting and increasing my budget. If I am going to do this, I want to do it right for the sake of the animal. Thanks for the quick response!

Cruise here, Fauna, and Kingsnake for used tstats. I have scored a couple Herpstats at great prices and in like new condition.
