Securing Heat Lamp

Alright so I've got my first terrarium in the works, everything is finally shipped to me, and I've got it all in place. The only problem I have is securing the heat lamp to something. I use an old 29 gallon fish tank for my terrarium, have the wire-caged screen top for it and clamps to prevent the snake from poking out. I don't have a drill to secure it with zip ties to the screen, so I'd just sitting there waiting to be knocked over while turned on, potentially starting a fire.

How have all of you secured your heat lamp down?

Do not secure it to the screen.

Many people just rest it on the screen but I don't like that method. For one I think it looks bad. It also shortens the life of the bulbs because you are constantly banging it around. Then to top it off you are moving a blazing hot bulb that has the potential to start a fire.

I use the Zoo Med lamp stand and think they are great. They are about $20 at both big box pet stores and Amazon, it even ships Prime. They are extremely adjustable to fit your needs.

Yup, lamp stand or sitting on the screen.
I have also hung it from a shelf above the enclosure.

I've installed the clamp on the the heat lamp and attached it about 4 inches above the top.

My next question is about tin foil. I've wrapped some cardboard with tinfoil to help keep the heat/humidity in. Used cardboard and put foil directly on the top itself just to make it easier when cleaning etc. Will it be okay with cardboard inside the foil? Or will it get too hot and potentially catch on fire. It is fully wrapped, no cardboard is exposed.

I also read that the foil is supposed to help with humidity, yet my humidity is stuck at 35%, I can take some photos if necessary.

The foil wrapped cardboard should be fine. I use it too.

It may help humidity a tad but in the end screen tops suck. I still use one and I get around the humidity issue by keeping moist moss in the hides.
