Dryness around his head?

So since I got my guy a few weeks ago, he's had a bit of dry looking spots on his head. However, now he seems to have a bit more around the front of his face, and I'm partly concerned, partly curious. It doesn't seem to bother him, but aside from obvious stress signs, I'm not that sure when a snake is bothered. I've checked the rest of him out, no weird spots on his underbelly or on the rest of him, just these bits around his head.

For reference, he lives in a vivarium with a hot side of 88, cool side of 76 (would be higher, but it it fights everything I do to stay warmer). Humidity has been at 65% or so for the last week as I thought he was going into a shed (mistakenly though he was going blue in the eyes, and thought he felt dry because I was just really starting to feel his scales), as of tonight I returned it to his usual of 58% (allows the hygrometer to fall, but keeps it above 50 at all times).

Appreciate any help.

It looks like the very top layer of the new scales came off with his last shed. Just make sure the humidity is high enough before the next shed.
