What to breed to a male queen bee?
Hello!
So the first ever ball python I acquired was a male queen bee, because I just loved the look of the queen bee. I have since expanded my collection a bit, and so far, if I were to breed them (still thinking it over) I know who I would match with who. But it is the queen bee I am questioning, as everytime I try to match him with another morph on the genetics calculator on world of ball pythons, there are a million and one results that can come about. It might be unrealistic, but I prefer a smaller amount of possible options.
I know you should breed for what you love and want, but in your opinion, what do you think would be a good morph to pick up for a match to a male queen bee that would not give a million possible offsprings? (And might just be an all around good female to have.)
Thanks!

Well first step is to do a little research and try to understand BP genetics. A queen bee is a combination of three separate morphs: a lesser, a pastel, and a spider. Two "co-dominant" or incomplete dominant morphs, and one dominant. That means your guys has a chance to throw any one of those genes alone or in combination, plus whatever you paired it with. I would persoanlly look around at the morph lists for all of those first and try to get a better idea of what you want for an end result. Then when to find that(those) morph(s) you can't live without, pair him up to the snake that will work toward that goal! Keep in mind, breeding projects can take years to hit that perfect combo.

If I understand what your "wanting" properly, .... Your best bet would be to simply pick up a normal female ... That would give you the least amount of options (8) and still only a 1/8th chance of hatching a normal .... Pastel would be my second choice. .... I would stay away from doubling up on the spider gene but that's always just a matter of opinion, if you breed to a pastel you get the same results as if you breed to a spider except in addition you have a chance at a killer bee with the pastel ... With the spider you do not

I think a Butter would go awesome with that combo. I am breeding my fire spider and bumble bee with her now. I hope she takes and cant wait to see the combos. This is my first time so I am using this as a trial error thing. I really want clown combos so I have a 1.1 pair of pastel 100% het clowns.(that's down the road) as they are still young. Look into the butter morph, see what ya think.
Snakes
0.1 Butter
0.1 Het Clown/Ghost
1.1 Pastel 100% Het Clown
1.1 Pied
1.0 Bee
1.0 Fire/Spider
1.0 Normal
1.0 Pastave
1.0 Albino Snow Corn
1.0 Albino Black Pastel

You know, I was just thinking enchi too! Either going for a super, or throwing in one of the "cleaner" genes would make some really nice animals.

I would go with enchi yellow belly

i will go enchi leopard , enchi yb, OD fire, OD enchi, OD YB or OD leopard.
But single gene of them will be great as well. Except YB alone won t be that great. i will avoid pinstripe, spider, champagne, woma, lesser, butter, mojave, het. russo.
my first choice will be OD for a single gene, OD enchi for a double.
1.0 superstripe, killerbee, OD spider fire, black pastel YB, black specter, pastel dinker, spider dinker, banana, banana cinnamon, enchi fire OD, fire dream bee het. russo, pastel superstripe, 2.0 firefly dream YB.
0.2 superpastel yb, 0.2 enchi, 0.1 yellowbelly 0.2 cinnamon, 0.2 normal, 0.1 black widow, black pewter, fire, lemon pastel, pastel, black pastel, bumblebee, spider granite, het. russo, super pastel, pastel specter, specter, lesser pin, OD, fire OD, OD fire het. russo, OD pastel, firefly dream YB, fire bee het. russo, lemon pastel enchi, citrus super enchi, super pastel enchi, pastel ivory, bumblebee dinker
