    GRAPHIC IMAGE -is this normal?

I have never ever seen this happen before. I just fed Monty, and I looked down after throwing the box away and saw this (that's the mouses blood not Monty's... I am gradually trying to retrain monty to eat f/t (this one was live). I know its obviously a possibility, but is it normal? I have a tank cleaning scheduled on Tuesday or Wednesday, so I will be scrubbing the sides of his tank to get the scent of blood out of there (best product for this??)

Maybe its because he had the mouse pressed against the glass?

I have never seen it before. I immediately checked monty for bites, but there weren't any. I suppose it could happen often. Like a toothpaste container... Pop

I don't feed rats, I had to bash the last one over the head when my snake went special needs during the feeding and but him in the arse. Instead of the head. Just multiple mice for now until I get him on f/t.

My red tail boa does this a lot with the fresh killed rats I feed her. My baby bp has done this a couple times too with her rat pups. That's why I usually throw a big ceramic casserole dish under my red tails rat and half my red tails body as she is eating so it doesn't get blood in the cage or eat aspen. She is VERY mellow though so I can even pick her up while shes eating but I wouldn't recommend putting hands on or around a feeding big snake for obvious reasons.

Yeah, I didn't think about that until after the fact. Now I just need to clean his tank in a few days. Any suggestions for cleaning the smell? I've heard white wine vinegar and water?

Yup it happens sometimes. Here's a pic of when it happened with my mimosa I also got scared and thought it was an injury on her but it was from the rat.
